Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description

A gold metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1-1/4 inch in height blazoned as follows: Azure, upon a fess wavy Argent a cross quarterly Or and Sanguine.  From the behind the shield at top a red demi-disc bordered white and edged in gold, adorned with carnation petals in gold.  Attached below the shield a tri-parted red scroll inscribed on the left “TO SERVE,” at the bottom center “SERVANT,” and on the right “WARRIORS” all in gold.

Symbolism

The colors white and maroon are associated with the Army Medical Corps. The cross is an international symbol of the medical field. The shield and crest highlight the unit’s location in Ohio. The blue shield with the white wavy illustrates the Cuyahoga River flowing through the city of Cleveland.  The red and white-edged disk alludes to Ohio’s nickname as the “Buckeye State”.  The carnation petals highlight the state flower of Ohio.

Background

A distinctive unit insignia was approved for the 806th Hospital Center on 02 June 2023.
